Leonardo Birindelli began his creative career as a musician, playing in various bands from the Roman underground scene and performing live in Italy and abroad. After earning a Master’s degree in Cinema and Multimedia Production, he devoted himself to video editing and teaching, particularly at schools in the outskirts of Rome. In 2012 he founded the commercial production company DVI99, then, in 2023, the independent production Ozono Studio. For over a decade Birindelli has balanced the dual identity, one of a commercial producer for major clients such as Sky, Paramount, MTV, MaxMara, Sony, and the Municipality of Rome, and on the other hand producing independent narrative and documentary films for the festival circuit allows him to support his directors and give his team creative freedom while also running a sustainable company. Leonardo’s approach to production focuses on intimate and unexpected stories set in marginalized spaces, often highlighting resilience, identity, and the contradictions of everyday life. His mission is to produce emotionally powerful works that reveal the extraordinary in the ordinary. His first feature premiered in Berlinale in 2025.
