Laura González, founder of La Uruguaya Films, has written, directed, and produced six acclaimed short films before making her feature debut with Milonga (2023), starring Paulina García. The multi-award-winning film received seven nominations at the ACCU Awards (FIPRESCI–Uruguay), including Best Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay, and Best Directorial Debut.
