Omar Lázaro García is a journalist, writer, and advocate for the Indigenous peoples of the Totonacapan region on the Veracruz coast. He serves as a councillor for the National Indigenous Congress. His articles on the defence of Totonac territory have appeared in various journalistic and academic outlets, including international media such as The New York Times. He has also given lectures at universities in Mexico, the United States, France, and Spain. He has directed and produced film projects. In 2025, he co-produced I Remember, directed by Manuel Bayo Gisbert, in collaboration with Disruptiva Films, one of Mexico’s most respected independent production companies.
