1937. Amidst the sprawling South African savanna, detective Miranda Green embarks on a perilous quest to unravel the mystery surrounding the disappearance of Pierre Murat, a French adventurer. Tasked by the inhabitants of the enigmatic White Lion vineyard estate, Miranda encounters a diverse group of individuals linked to the disappearance of Pierre: Andrew Hamilton, the Scottish owner of the estate; Franz Mlàdek, a seasoned big game hunter; Thomas Finch, an English Anglican priest; Victoria Cavendish, a Scottish countess; Alice Peacock, an English crime novelist; Lindiwe Diamini, a Zulu medium; and Bongani, a Zulu tribe chief. From Pretoria to the heart of the savanna, surrounded by wild animals, Miranda delves deeper into the labyrinth of secrets, she unearths hidden agendas and perilous truths among her companions. Racing against time, she must unravel the tangled web of deception before it ensnares her.
