Prince Alaaddin's unexpected death prompts Murad Khan to retreat to Bursa, succeeded by his son Mehmed. Despite being perceived as immature by European states, Mehmed proves otherwise when faced with Orhan, backed by Byzantium, in his first major battle for the throne.
