Six cinematic recreations and updates of the painting “Livonian Peasant Wedding” (1842) by Ernst Hermann Schlichting (1812–1890), who was born in Estonia. The short explores various, sometimes dark twists on the festive celebration. Because in moving pictures, sometimes secondary figures can end up at the centre of the action.
