A court session is underway. The facts of violations and embezzlement at a small plant are being examined. The chief engineer of the enterprise, Chistukhin, takes all the blame upon himself. At first glance, the plant director appears to be uninvolved in the crime. Gradually, we realize that she is not entirely innocent.
