Nadya is a character in a short story that the Screenwriter is writing. He writes it "for himself", "for the drawer". Nadya is a little over forty, she works as a ticket inspector at a movie theater. She is not married, but she has a man who comes to her from time to time. When he is around, Nadya is happy. When he is not there, she languishes in anticipation. But the Screenwriter thinks that the story is boring. For the sake of competent plot schemes, he begins to ruin Nadya's life and drives her to despair...
